04/13/2011
Pittsburgh Glass Works, a supplier of glass and aftermarket glass services to the auto industry, has selected Elkin, North Carolina, for a new manufacturing plant. The company will invest $86 million and create more than 260 jobs.

"We are extremely pleased with the support provided by Governor Bev Perdue, Surry County Commissioner Paul Johnson, and Elkin Mayor Lestine Hutchens and their colleagues with assisting our organization in determining Elkin, North Carolina, as the most appropriate location for our new manufacturing facility," said James D. Wiggins, chairman and CEO of Pittsburgh Glass Works. "We look forward to becoming a part of the Surry County and Elkin communities."

Pittsburgh Glass Works will receive a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) that could result in $2.1 million in maximum benefits. And the One North Carolina Fund will extend a $500,000 grant to the company.
