Genesis Products Creating 150 Jobs in Charlotte County, Virginia
04/14/2011
"Genesis strives to maintain a very close relationship with our customers. As we continue to evaluate additional product lines to add to our core business, we always end up asking ourselves one key question: How can we do this better? We're really excited to begin this expansion into Virginia and partner with Appomattox. Their team really knows what they are doing, so we're eager to continue to add value to an already successful company," said company CEO Jonathan Wenger.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership helped Charlotte County secure the project. Governor Bob McDonnell approved a $250,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to assist Charlotte County. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission will contribute $300,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds to the project. The company is eligible to receive rail access funding from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. And the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (VDBA) will provide funding and services to support the company's recruitment and training activities through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
Genesis serves the RV, mobile home, kitchen cabinet, and furniture manufacturing industries.
