06/13/2013
The company currently supplies more than 350,000 types of health care supplies and services to hospitals, nursing homes, physician offices, home care agencies and providers, and major retail outlets.
Medline’s e-commerce and IS department will expand to a new 11,000 sq. ft. office facility at 100 S. Wacker. The company plans to add positions in e-commerce, mobility, systems analysis and data warehousing in the coming year. It also expects the Chicago office to double in size during the next 3 to 5 years.
“Considering Chicago’s rapidly growing pool of highly-skilled, talented workers, Medline’s e-commerce and IS expansion to the city will prove to be a rewarding investment. Chicago is a thriving global city that has attracted cutting-edge companies who conduct business around the world. I am confident that Medline’s move to Chicago will speed the company further down the path of global innovation and expansion,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “I am proud to help welcome Medline into Chicago’s bustling technology and health care industry.”
“We are excited to work with the city of Chicago and Mayor Emanuel in expanding our tech division to Chicago and augment our terrific IS staff located at our headquarters in Mundelein,” said Andy Mills, president of Medline. “By expanding to Chicago, we can tap into the wealth of talented high tech workers the city has to offer to help build our fast-growing e-commerce and IS areas.
