Load Delivered Logistics Expands Its Chicago, Illinois, Facility
07/16/2014
According to the firm, the company will move to a 60,000 square foot space in the future and has sought out locations from various real estate development firms in the city.
"The Midwest has always been a major hub for the supply chain industry specifically focusing on frozen food and meat companies," said Robert Nathan, Load Delivered CEO. "There is a tremendous need for reliable temperature-controlled transportation providers. We chose to specialize in this mode of shipping when we founded the company during the 2008 recession. People weren't buying plasma TVs, but they still needed to eat."
Today, temperature-controlled shipping is still prevalent and accounts for nearly half of the company's business, the company said. Load Delivered serves several Chicago-based companies across an array of industries with particular expertise in the food and beverage industry.
This year, Load Delivered will surpass 100 associates, with 60 new hires in 2014 alone. By the end of 2016, the company said it aims to grow to over 250 team members. To adjust to the influx of new associates, the company is adding 24,000 square feet to its office.
“The expansion, which will be completed in early August, caters to team members' needs and encourages career development, two key ingredients to Load Delivered's culture. The new space will feature a workout facility and a Center for Excellence. The Center will double as a training facility for employees and a home for the company's many philanthropic efforts, like afterschool tutoring and mentorship programs,” according to the firm.
"Our office expansion enables us to scale our growth to continue to meet our clients' needs," said Nathan. "We're growing – fast – and we want to prepare for our next growth cycle. We wouldn't be where we are today without the hard work and dedication of our team, so we want to ensure our office accommodates them."
