Sanborn Studios Creating 117 Jobs in Sarasota County, Florida

Sanborn Studios will create a new film and television production facility in Sarasota County, Florida. The project represents a $30 million investment and will create 117 jobs. The studio will be located in the Lakewood Ranch Corporate Park near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

"Our main focus will be creating content based in Sarasota County through Sanborn Entertainment," said CEO Ken Sanborn. "We plan to begin a production in November in Sarasota County and another in the first quarter of 2011. We expect our world-class facility will also attract outside productions to the area."

Sarasota County and the state of Florida have approved performance-based incentives to support the project. The county's commitment totals $717,000, including a local match for state funds, which will total $468,000.
