Global Textile Alliance Invests $7.4 Million To Expand Its Reidsville, North Carolina, Manufacturing Center
09/25/2012
"Global Textile Alliance is extremely pleased to have the continued support of North Carolina to help us broaden the foundation of our company," said Steven Graven, President of Global Textile Alliance. "The expansions we have planned will allow the company to grow in the overall scope of the products we manufacture in the United States."
Global Textile Alliance headquartered at 2361 Holiday Loop, in Reidsville, North Carolina, north of Greensboro, manufactures bedding and upholstery fabrics sold to several major U.S. furniture brands. The Reidsville plant is home to the company's corporate headquarters, distribution, design, sales and marketing, finance and quality control divisions. There are currently more than 130 people working at the facility.
"North Carolina has a long and celebrated history in the textile industry," said Gov. Bev Perdue. "Manufacturers are expanding here because of our state's investments in education and job training programs. Companies know that hiring a skilled workforce is a key part of thriving in a global economy." The expansion project was made possible, in part, by a $150,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
The One NC Fund provides financial assistance, through local governments, to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify for grant funds. These grants also require and are contingent upon local matches.
