ComSonics Expands Augusta County, Virginia, Operations

ComSonics, Inc., a world-class design, manufacturing, sales, and repair solutions provider for electronics and fiber optics, will invest $615,000 to expand its manufacturing operation in Augusta County, Virginia.

The company will purchase new equipment and make facility improvements to allow for additional space. In conjunction with this project, 34 new jobs will be created over a three-year period.

“As our story goes, Dr. Braun founded ComSonics in Harrisonburg because it was his home, and he had great affection for the Shenandoah Valley and its hardworking people,” said ComSonics COO Bret Harrison.

“His location decision has proven fortuitous, as ComSonics has benefited through the years from Harrisonburg and Augusta County’s growth and that of supporting educative opportunities. Our Virginia workforce today includes both employees with professional business and technical skills, many developed locally through James Madison University, Blue Ridge Community College, and specialized vocational training. ComSonics’ ability to help develop curriculum content and certificate-based programs has ensured our workforce and business excels,” Harrison added.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) will support ComSonics, Inc.’s new job creation through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP).

We thank ComSonics for choosing to reinvest in Augusta County and expand its Weyers Cave manufacturing operation.”
