OPmobility Plans Rossford, Ohio, Manufacturing Operations

06/05/2026
Automotive supplier OPmobility plans to establish operations in Rossford, Ohio. The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs in Wood County.

The investment will include the construction of a new facility that will manufacture exterior automotive systems. Production is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.

"The construction of our 12th plant in the United States closely follows the inauguration of our new North America headquarters in Troy, Michigan. Our first Exterior & Lighting plant in the Midwest will allow OPmobility to serve our customers in this vitally important region, representing 40% of the U.S. automotive manufacturing," said Félicie Burelle, Chief Executive Officer of OPmobility. "These milestones reaffirm our ambition to grow in the region and in the United States and contribute to our strategic geographical diversification.”

To support the project, OPmobility was approved for a 1.968%, 12-year tax credit by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority. JobsOhio also plans to provide assistance for the project.

“We and our partners at the Regional Growth Partnership welcome OPmobility’s decision to choose Ohio for its first Midwest facility for exterior solutions, which attracts a global leader to the state and reflects the strength of the manufacturing sector our automakers, suppliers and workforce have built together,” noted J.P. Nauseef, President and CEO of JobsOhio. “Ohio sits at the heart of the automotive sector and is home to some of the world’s leading OEMs and top-tier suppliers, and OPmobility's investment in Toledo, along with more than 500 new jobs, strengthens that leadership.”

OPmobility is a manufacturer of automotive systems and components for vehicle manufacturers. The company develops products including exterior systems, lighting, energy storage, and electrification technologies for passenger and commercial vehicles.

“Wood County is excited to welcome OPmobility to Rossford,” added Wade Gottschalk, Executive Director of the Wood County Economic Development Commission. “Advanced manufacturing has been a key component of our economic success and we are especially pleased to see a global company like OPmobility choose Rossford in Wood County as home to its newest operation and a further statement to the regional workforce and infrastructure that continue to attract manufacturing to our county and region.”
