SC Tool Inc. Invests $1.25 Million To Expand Operations In Greenville County, South Carolina
02/11/2013
“Today’s announcement is an exciting one for us. This expansion gives us the chance to diversify our offerings as well as increase our market share. South Carolina has always provided us with a great business environment and we are pleased to start new operations in Greenville County. We appreciate all the support we’ve received from state and local officials,” said Jody McRoberts, president of SC Tool Inc.
SC Tool acquired the assets of a company in Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina and is in the process of expanding its production capacity to nearly 30,000 square feet in two dedicated manufacturing facilities. The company said it has created a strategy to take their tested and proven products beyond their current customer base to a larger market of customers.
“The new investment is a major step towards helping us realize our strategic goals. The additional capacity and available services this investment yields allow our team to engineer unique precision solutions for the automotive, medical, aerospace and power generation industries. We see the need to provide industry-leading precision and technology with fast delivery and aggressive pricing,” said McRoberts. Some production has already begun in the newly acquired Traveler’s Rest location. The next steps will be to organize the new facility’s capabilities with the existing facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to best serve current customer needs and the needs of a growing customer base.
“When a home-grown company decides to expand its presence in South Carolina, it’s a good sign we’re doing the right things to help our existing businesses succeed. We celebrate SC Tool’s decision to invest $1.25 million and create 30 new jobs in Traveler’s Rest. Announcements like this show that South Carolina is the ‘it’ state for business,” said Gov. Nikki Haley.
“Our state’s manufacturing renaissance continues to gain steam with announcements like the one today by SC Tool. The company’s decision to grow here with a new operation in Greenville County is another indication that South Carolina’s business-friendly climate and skilled workforce are just right,” said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
