CertainTeed Corporation Plans $100 Million Investment In Jonesburg, Missouri, In Manufacturing Facility and Warehouse
04/05/2013
CertainTeed is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA of France. CertainTeed’s new Jonesburg facility will serve as the production and distribution site for residential roofing shingles, and include a new 60,000 square-foot manufacturing facility and a 150,000 square-foot warehouse. Construction on the project is expected to begin this summer.
“The Jonesburg plant will play a strategic role in meeting the ongoing demand for CertainTeed roofing shingles in the Midwest and ensuring top-notch service to key customers,” said Tom Smith, president of CertainTeed Roofing. “Having been founded 108 years ago in nearby East St. Louis, CertainTeed has a special bond with the region and we are tremendously appreciative of the support we’ve received from Gov. Nixon, the Missouri Department of Economic Development, officials from Warren and Montgomery counties, and the city of Jonesburg.”
“Today’s announcement is another example of Missouri’s resurgent manufacturing industry, which continues to spur economic growth and create jobs in every corner of our state,” Gov. Jay Nixon said. “A testament to Missouri’s competitive business climate and skilled workforce, CertainTeed’s decision to locate its new state-of-the-art production and distribution facility in Jonesburg will create jobs and provide a significant boost to the area’s economy. By continuing to pursue pro-growth policies and maintaining our strict fiscal discipline, we will keep our state’s economy moving forward.”
“The economic impact of this project will ripple through our entire region and we are pleased to welcome CertainTeed to our community,” said Jonesburg Mayor Bob Sellenriek. “I want to give special thanks to the State of Missouri and both Montgomery and Warren counties for their crucial support for this important project.”
To assist CertainTeed Corporation in moving forward with its growth plans, the company has been offered a strategic economic incentive package from the state of Missouri that it can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
