Online Company Yelp Inc. to Expand Its Scottsdale, AZ, Operations & Hire 300 Workers

The company's California headquarters facility employs 700 people. Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman said Scottsdale was chosen for this expansion due to the city's proximity to its headquarters, as well as its access to a large pool of young, college-educated workers.
Founded in 2004, Yelp is a growing, privately held social networking and "local search" website known for its consumer-generated reviews of all types businesses; most notably restaurants. According to Stoppelman, the Yelp website has 19 million user reviews and receives 50 million unique visitors each month.
