Apex Benefits Group Plans $1 Million Investment On Expansion To New Headquarters In Indianapolis, Indiana
08/01/2012
The company, which provides services to private, non-profit and public companies, will lease and equip a new 7,329 square foot facility at 3755 E. 82nd St in Indianapolis. As part of the project, the company will purchase new furniture, computer hardware and software.
"Decisions like the one Apex Benefits is making to continue to invest in Indiana reflects the continued confidence companies small and large have in our state," said Dan Hasler, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. "Our pro-growth, low-tax business policies give the Hoosier State the upper hand when it comes to growing businesses and creating jobs.
"As health insurance costs continue to climb and the federal regulatory environment becomes more complex employers are increasingly relying on specialists like us to help them develop and manage employee health and wellness plans," said John Gause, president of Apex Benefits. "We continue to experience growth and success due to the relationships built with Indiana employers, as well as attracting and retaining the best talent our state has to offer. Indiana is and has been home to several successful insurance companies and administrators, which makes it a great place to find talented health and wellness professionals."
As an incentive, The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Apex Benefits Group, Inc. up to $400,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $45,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Indianapolis will also support the project through additional incentives at the request of Develop Indy.
"We welcome Apex Benefits' expansion and investment on Indianapolis' northside," said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard. "We are pleased to support projects such as this that add quality, high-paying jobs for our city's workforce."
