Michelin Expansion in South Carolina Rolls On

Tire manufacturer Michelin North America will invest $350 million over the next four years to improve and expand all of its South Carolina manufacturing facilities. Company officials cited the growing market demand for tires across several product lines as the driving force behind the expansion. "Over the last 30 years, Michelin has invested more than $2 billion in South Carolina with excellent results," says Jim Micali, chairperson and president of Michelin North America. The company plans to add approximately 100 new jobs to its existing South Carolina work force of more than 8,000, who are spread across 37 of the state's 46 counties.
