Moog Expands West Valley, Utah, Production Operations

09/13/2026
Precision motion and fluid control systems manufacturer Moog Inc. plans to expand its operations in West Valley City, Utah. The nearly $12 million project is expected to create 89 jobs.

The investment at the company’s existing facility will increase production of advanced defense systems, weapon turrets, and missile control components.

“Expanding our space and defense production operation in West Valley City is a direct reflection of the exceptional Utah workforce,” said Moog Government Relations Director John Boncaldo. “Their talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence make this facility a showcase — consistently delivering hardware with 100% quality, 100% on-time, advancing our mission of equipping those who defend freedom and explore the universe.”

To support the project, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) awarded Moog a post-performance tax reduction through the state’s Economic Development Tax Increment Financing program.

“Precision engineering and defense technology are central to Utah’s strategic economic priorities,” noted GOED Commissioner Jefferson Moss. “Moog’s choice to grow its space and defense manufacturing operations in West Valley promotes high-paying jobs and is in line with our goal to be leaders in advanced hardware manufacturing.”

Moog designs and manufactures precision motion and fluid control systems for the aerospace, defense, industrial, and healthcare sectors. The company develops technologies including aircraft flight control components, satellite components, missile control and actuation systems, and automated machinery.

“Moog has been an important part of West Valley City’s business community for many years, and we are thrilled to see the company make another significant investment in our city,” added West Valley City Director of Economic Development Jonathan Springmeyer. “This expansion reinforces West Valley City’s growing role in Utah’s aerospace and defense industry while bringing new high-quality jobs and economic opportunities to our community. We appreciate Moog’s continued commitment to West Valley City and the State of Utah.”
