Truck Manufacturer Relocating HQ to North Carolina

As part of a restructuring of its heavy-duty truck operations, Sweden-based Volvo Group will relocate its Mack Trucks corporate headquarters and some support functions to Greensboro, North Carolina. The $17.7 million investment is expected to create more than 490 jobs over the next three years at an average annual salary of $73,800 plus benefits. Mack Trucks is currently headquartered in Pennsylvania. "The city of Greensboro and the state of North Carolina have been great partners to the Volvo Group for a number of years. Mack looks forward to continuing that partnership, and making a positive contribution to the area's economy and community." Volvo Trucks North America is also headquartered in Greensboro. The state has provided Mack Trucks with incentives that include up to $8.5 million in tax benefits and $2.8 million in infrastructure improvements.
