Sapient Corporation Invests $6.45 Million To Combine Miami, Florida, Operation Into a Center of Excellence
01/21/2013
The new facility, named a Center of Excellence, provides a way for the company to promote collaboration between employees, partners and customers by combining its creative and technical talent with its business analytics and commerce technology divisions, The Beacon Council said. The expansion adds more than 11,000 square feet to its existing 42,221 Miami-Dade footprint. The company currently employs 283 people in Miami-Dade County and had evaluated the option of relocating to Toronto.
“We’re glad that Sapient Corporation made the smart decision to stay right here in Miami-Dade County and expand both their physical footprint and their team of IT professionals,” said Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “Sapient represents precisely the kind of innovative, IT-focused companies that will move our community and our economy into the future. We welcome their investment and the high-paying jobs for locals that come along with it.”
Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development partnership, referred the company to The Beacon Council. The Beacon Council assisted Sapient with state and local incentives and research and marketing analysis. “This expansion illustrates how attracting the One Community One Goal targeted industries helps bring higher paying jobs to our community,” said Frank R. Nero, president and CEO of The Beacon Council.
