National Defense Intelligence Company, CLI Solutions, Invests $3.4 Million To Expand Tampa, Florida, Headquarters Facility
12/14/2012
CLI Solutions is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, specializing in linguistic services, human terrain analysis, cultural awareness and language training, strategic communications, intelligence analytical support, operations and program management. In 2010, the company relocated to its current corporate headquarters in Tampa after securing a major intelligence and analysis support contract with United States Central Command, in partnership with SAIC, an American defense company.
“At CLI Solutions, we employ specialists with advanced degrees and experience in the intelligence field,” said Husein Atari, President and CEO. “Because we hire locally, it is important for us to be based in a strong, defense-oriented community. We look forward to continuing our growth in Tampa and providing high-paying, stable careers for our retiring service members.”
The company plans to hire military and civilian employees retiring from USCENTCOM and United States Special Operations Command, as well as those displaced by NASA layoffs on the Space Coast.
Governor Rick Scott said, “It was great news when CLI Solutions decided to locate their headquarters in Tampa, and now they have chosen to expand even further in Florida. My top priority is to create a business climate that will create more jobs for Florida’s families. We are striving to make Florida the best place in the world to do business, and Florida’s families deserve the best job opportunities available to help them live the American Dream. It’s great news as we head into the holiday season.”
Tampa competed against three alternative sites for the expansion project, including Atlanta, Charlotte and Anne Arundel County, Maryland, the Governor’s Office said. Proximity to MacDill Air Force Base and access to an abundant, highly-trained workforce were cited as significant factors in the decision. MacDill AFB has long been touted by business and community leaders as a critical factor in economic development activities, along with a growing number of related military assets.
“CLI Solutions is a valued member of the Hillsborough County business community and we couldn’t be more pleased to share in their success,” said Ken Hagan, Chairman of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. “Their expansion plans underscore our commitment to creating an environment where existing companies can grow and prosper.”
“I am proud to see a local small business like CLI Solutions expand and bring millions in private investment to our community,” said Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “With 40 new jobs, their success of one more example of high tech and defense companies thriving in Tampa.”
While information on whether the firm is eligible for state tax incentives to spark expansion was not immediately available, The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation said it drives job creation and capital investment through the recruitment, expansion and retention of economic base businesses.
