Minnesota Healthcare Company adding 300 jobs in Expansion
12/20/2011
Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is working with Prime Therapeutics to finalize a $500,000 forgivable loan that the company will use to expand operations near its headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota. The loan, which the company will use to expand operations near its Eagan headquarters, will be forgiven once the company meets its employment goals under the deal.
The city of Eagan, the Dakota County Community Development Agency and Greater MSP also assisted Prime Therapeutics with its expansion planning.
Prime Therapeutics, which was launched in 1987 as the pharmacy department for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, has 2,100 employees in nine U.S. cities. The company is owned by 12 Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans nationally, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.
"We are excited to strengthen our foothold in Minnesota and create new professional jobs for Eagan, Dakota County and for Prime," said Eric Elliott, president and CEO of Prime Therapeutics. "Since our inception, our home base has been in Eagan, and we have always been impressed with, and grateful for, the level of cooperation it has shown us over the years. They have made our decision to put down deeper roots in Eagan and Dakota County an easy one."
