Jyoti Americas Investing $34M in Conroe, Texas, Transmission Tower Plant
12/09/2010
"After an extensive search for a facility to help us meet our long-term growth requirements, we are pleased to select Conroe, Texas, for our manufacturing facility," Jyoti Americas CEO Lamberto De Santis said. "The Texas Enterprise Fund, along with support from various state, county and city leaders, was an important factor in our decision. We look forward to opening the facility next year and establishing Jyoti Americas' presence as an engaged corporate citizen in Texas."
The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) is contributing $865,000 towards the project. Jyoti is also awaiting confirmation of incentives from the city of Conroe.
The facility will fabricate and galvanize up to 36,000 tons of power transmission towers each year. The towers transmit renewable energy to consumers. The facility will be the first of its kind producing these towers in the United States.
