YRC Freight to consolidate operations to Kansas
02/16/2012
Positions moving to Kansas will include accounting, payroll, pricing, accounts payable and analyst positions, as well as customer service representatives and cargo claim teams, a company spokesman said. The consolidation is part of the company's continued emphasis on customer service. YRC Freight delivers approximately 50,000 shipments a day and serves thousands of small and large businesses in Kansas and more than 200,000 customers in North America.
"At YRC Freight we are building a team focused on delivering quality and consistently reliable freight service for our customers. The state's Commerce Secretary Pat George and his team worked with us every step of the way in highlighting the strong pro-business environment in Kansas," YRC Freight President Jeff Rogers said.
"This is great news for Kansas," said Commerce Secretary Pat George. "YRC Freight told me that they like the business environment and the quality of the workforce in Kansas. This is a big win to have a major transportation company like YRC Freight decide to consolidate more of its operations within our state."
