InterMarket Technology Locates Headquarters-Manufacturing in Washington, North Carolina
02/16/2018
Founded in 1995, InterMarket Technology, Inc. (IMT) designs and manufactures Point of Purchase displays for Fortune 500 consumer goods companies and retail store chains. Additionally, IMT produces unique recycling and donation bins distributed nationally to schools, municipalities, states and the federal government through its sister company Recyclingbin.com.
“We look forward to tapping into the many resources North Carolina has to offer,” said Scott R. Gardner, CEO & Founder of IMT. “We are planning on creating new jobs for operations and to introduce and expand a variety of products made of wood, steel and plastic."
“North Carolina is the number one manufacturing state in the Southeast,” said North Carolina Commerce Secretary Anthony M. Copeland. “More than 464,000 people work in manufacturing positions in our state, and that workforce is 42% more productive when compared to the nation.”
A performance-based grant of $50,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate InterMarket Technology’s relocation to North Carolina. According to state officials, The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. were instrumental in supporting the company’s expansion decision.
“North Carolina is a national leader for manufacturing and we’re excited to welcome a new manufacturer to put down roots in our state,” Governor Roy Cooper said. “Companies like InterMarket Technology are attracted to our friendly business climate and skilled workforce, and we’re striving to make our workforce even stronger so we can keep bringing good jobs to North Carolina.”
In addition to North Carolina Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, other key partners in the project include the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, NCWorks, ElectriCities, Beaufort County Community College, Beaufort County Schools, the Beaufort County Commissioners, the City of Washington Council, Beaufort County Economic Development Allies, and the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce.
