02/17/2011
QVC is creating 200 jobs in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, as part of an expansion of its distribution facility there. The multimedia retailer will invest $71 million in the next five years, partly supported by a $1 million grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

"The people at our Rocky Mount distribution center are a strong and dedicated team that does a great job serving our customers every day," said John Hunter, QVC executive vice president of customer fulfillment services. "With more than 25 million packages shipped last year, the facility is clearly an important and growing part of QVC's success. We look forward to adding jobs and building on our thriving business relationships in Edgecombe County."

QVC, which has headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is one of the world's largest multimedia retailers. At the end of 2010, the company employed 541 full-time workers and 998 part-time workers in Rocky Mount.
