Canadian Tech South East Receives Funding for IT Business Seminars

02/25/2011
Canadian company Tech South East, based in Moncton, New Brunswick, is receiving federal funding to help IT firms grow, the New Brunswick Business Journal reports. Tech South East will offer members of its IT group and health and life science companies workshops and seminars on business skill development.

"Our government's investment in Tech South East will help the region's technology cluster to acquire and enhance the skills needed to be an efficient, effective and successful competitor in both the domestic and international marketplace," said Rob Moore, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism and MP for Fundy Royal.

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) is extending Tech South East $47,475 towards the program, called Tech Talk.

"The Tech Talk series of seminars and workshops brings top-level technology business development specialists together with member companies in a dynamic, interactive learning environment, helping them to develop and maintain their competitive edge," said Tech South East President and CEO Douglas Robertson.

Tech South East will unite industry, government, academia, and financial sources to develop the regional innovation acceleration program.
