DENSO Plans Jeffersonville, Indiana, Distribution Hub

DENSO, the world's second-largest mobility supplier, and its affiliate DENSO Products and Services Americas Inc. will open a new distribution center in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The company plans to create up to 50 new jobs by 2023.

The Japan-based company will invest more than $9.5 million to lease and equip 312,000 square feet of warehouse space at 301 Logistics Ave. in the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville.

The new facility will help DENSO achieve higher fill rates, manage efficient inventory, control costs and meet growth targets. The company plans to invest $3 million in new technology, including warehouse management software to control inventory, optimize supply chain management and enhance customer service.

“With our distribution strategy, we are embracing innovation to build the future of mobility. The center in Jeffersonville is strategically located to help meet the rising demand for DENSO’s top-quality replacement auto parts in the Northeast and Midwest,” said Kazu Yanagawa, vice president of DENSO’s Supply Chain Management Group. “This new distribution center gives us next-day ground transportation access to the entire region.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered DENSO Products and Services Americas Inc. up to $325,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.

In addition the city of Jeffersonville will offer additional incentives to the company at the request of One Southern Indiana, and Duke Energy has approved incentives to offset a portion of the energy costs.
