AMT Issues Manufacturing Mandate

03/26/2010
The Association for Manufacturing Technology has released a report that calls on government leaders to do more to help the industry advance after the worst recession in history. The organization is urging the federal government to implement new policies supporting innovation and create new programs tied to incentives.

The report, called "The Manufacturing Mandate - A National Manufacturing Strategy to Help Rebuild and Strengthen the U.S. Manufacturing Sector," encourages Congress and the White House Administration to initiate policies for putting new incentives in place for innovation and research and development in new products and technologies.

The group wants the government to help assure availability of capital, provide ways to increase global competitiveness and enhance collaboration between the government, industry and academia.
