Mayo Clinic Laboratories Plans Southaven, Mississippi, Operations

Diagnostic laboratory services provider Mayo Clinic Laboratories plans to establish operations in Southaven, Mississippi. The more than $30 million project is expected to create 234 jobs.

The company’s new diagnostic testing laboratory, located near Memphis International Airport and the FedEx World Hub, will serve hospitals and other healthcare clients.

“Companies like Mayo Clinic Laboratories need more than a good location; they need the ability to get up and running without protracted decision-making. Mississippi continues to deliver that advantage, and MDA is committed to helping companies turn investment decisions into operating facilities that create high-quality jobs and strengthen critical industries,” noted MDA Executive Director Bill Cork.

To support the project, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program. MDA also certified the company for the Health Care Industry Zone Incentive. The City of Southaven and DeSoto County are also assisting with the project.

Mayo Clinic Laboratories is a reference laboratory that provides advanced diagnostic testing and laboratory services for clinicians, hospitals, and healthcare systems.
