Vulcan Oilfield Services Expands Its New Castle, Pennsylvania, Operations Facility
05/13/2014
VOS provides both flowback and well testing services in both the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions focusing on oil, natural gas and condensate product. VOS is currently leasing a 14,000-square-foot facility in New Castle. Company officials plan to expand operations and invest more than $939,000 in the purchase of additional machinery and equipment.
“We’re very excited for our growth in Lawrence County,” said Matthew Anderson, President, Vulcan Oilfield Services. “This collaborative effort with the state and our local partners will allow Vulcan Oilfield Services to expand to other operations in the oil field sector.”
As an incentive, the company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development including $58,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $13,050 Guaranteed Free Training grant to be used to train its new workforce.
The company has also been encouraged to apply for the funding offer as well as a low-interest loan including $450,000 million from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund. VOS has accepted the funding proposal, but must still apply for each loan and grant and agree to the terms prior to award receipt. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with the Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation.
“Shale gas drilling is on the upswing in Lawrence County. Landowners, businesses and individuals are experiencing new opportunities as a result of this industry. New businesses are being created such as Vulcan Oilfield services with the resulting job opportunities,” said Linda Nitch, Executive Director of Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation. “We welcome these companies and look forward to their continued investment and job creation.”
