05/15/2012
Plexus, a producer in the high-tech electronics manufacturing service industry, integrates innovative product conceptualization, design, commercialization, manufacturing, fulfillment and sustaining services for global markets.
"This decision is a measure of our commitment to manufacturing in the United States and in the great State of Wisconsin," stated Dean Foate, Plexus President and Chief Executive Officer. "We believe that having strong manufacturing capabilities is essential to serving the evolving needs of our customers and to provide opportunity for growth in the future. This new facility, when combined with our design center, other manufacturing facilities and global headquarters in the Fox Cities, will provide an epicenter of capability for our customers."
Governor Scott Walker said the company is eligible for $15 million in Enterprise Zone tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, based on its job creation and capital investment in the next seven years. The new facility will enable to firm to consolidate two manufacturing locations in Neenah, with a workforce totaling an estimated 1,000 employees. The new manufacturing plant will be located at 585 Jensen Road in the Southpark Industrial Center.
Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in July and to be complete in fall 2013. "This is a tremendous job creation investment being made by Plexus Corp. with the support of the state and city of Neenah," said Governor Scott Walker. "The decision by Plexus to do this major expansion and cement its operations in Neenah reflects the positive direction Wisconsin is heading."
