Pacemaker Press PP&S, Inc. Relocates Operations Center To Franklin County, Pennsylvania

Pacemaker Press PP&S, Inc., a commercial web printing company, will invest more than $2.5 million to relocate its operations center to Franklin County, Pennsylvania, creating at least 39 new jobs during the next three years. The company will construct a new 30,000-square-foot building on 6.3 acres in the Wharf Road Industrial Park in Washington Township, Franklin County.

Pacemaker Press PP&S is a full service commercial web printing company with the ability to handle both high volume and short run print projects. Offering full bindery capabilities, the company handles a wide range of finishing requirements.

“Pennsylvania’s reputation for economic growth and partnership with businesses to create private sector jobs continues to attract companies to relocate to Pennsylvania,” Governor Tom Corbett said. “Today’s announcement is another success story for Pennsylvania. My JOBS1st PA initiative is working; Pennsylvania’s economy is growing and new jobs are being created for our residents.”

The company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development including a $125,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant that facilitates investment and job creation and $78,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. The company is also encouraged to apply for a$150,000 low-interest loan through the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund. Pacemaker Press has accepted the funding proposal, but must still apply for each loan and grant and agree to the terms prior to award receipt.

In addition, the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority recently approved a $1,191,500, 15 year, low-interest loan at 2.25 percent to Franklin County Area Development Corporation (FCADC) on behalf of Pacemaker Press PP&S. The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with the FCADC.

“The relocation of Pacemaker Press PP&S from Maryland to Pennsylvania has been predicated on several factors, not the least of which has been Pennsylvania’s favorable business climate,” said L. Michael Ross, President, FCADC. “The project will result in the creation of 39 family-sustaining jobs in Franklin County, expand the state and local tax base, and serve as a catalyst for additional development in the Wharf Road Industrial Park.”
