Expedia Expands Las Vegas Work Force by 130
06/21/2010
"This expansion means new jobs for 130 Nevadans and we are hopeful for further growth, which is always something to celebrate," said Michael Reichartz, vice president of market management for Expedia. "We applaud Senator [Harry] Reid [D-NV] for his leadership in passing the HIRE Act, which has assisted us with this expansion."
The HIRE Act, or Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment, creates or restores jobs to unemployed people.
Expedia will hire mostly travel agents and support staff to support Egencia, Expedia's branch for global corporate travel.
"Extending our service network into Las Vegas is a key part of our strategy and ability to support clients worldwide," said Noah Tratt, vice president, Egencia Americas.
