Canada’s Garda Cash Logistics Will Move Its U.S. HQ to Boca Raton, FL
06/08/2011
The South Florida Business Journal previously reported that the Montreal-based company had applied for $1 million in state and local incentives to create 100 jobs by 2013. Scott said the average pay for those jobs would be $65,000.
GCL helps banks and retailers manage their cash. A subsidiary of the 45,000-employee Garda World Security Corp, GCL opened its first operation here in 2005. Now it has become one of the leading cash logistics and armored transportation providers in America, and part of a corporation with global sales of $1.2 billion.
According to the Journal article GCL services more than 12,000 ATMs, and has over 140 locations, more than 7,500 employees, and nearly 2,200 armored vehicles in the United States.
Many Canadian companies have expressed a desire to do business with Florida because of its "excellent business climate and commitment to cut taxes and grow jobs," noted Florida's governor in his announcement. "[This is] proof that we are capturing the attention of the business community worldwide."
