Epic Wake Boats Brings Jobs Back to Vivian, Louisiana

Epic Wake Boats will create approximately 400 jobs at a new production site in Vivian, Louisiana, the Shreveport Times reports. The company will make electric and hybrid boats, as well as two electric car models, at the city's Caddo Manufacturing plant.

Epic CEO Chris Anthony said at the company's announcement that Louisiana has the potential to be a hotbed for the green industry.

"Why can't this be the green capital?" Anthony said. "You have the work force. You have the infrastructure."

Epic will take the place of VIP Boats, a company that declared bankruptcy a few years ago and re-formed under Caddo Manufacturing.
