Evoqua Water Technologies Locates Global Headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
07/27/2017
In addition to the larger space, this new location will aid in talent attraction and retention, as well as long-term growth in the region, the Governor’s Office said. Evoqua is generating over $2.5 million in capital investment to put into the project, which will create 63 new, full-time jobs and retain 313 more positions statewide over the next three years.
“We’ve increased our headcount significantly over the past few years after we moved our headquarters from outside Atlanta to Warrendale, and as we plan for the future, we thought it best to tap into the vibrancy and energy of the Central Business District,” said Ron Keating, Evoqua CEO. “Mayor Peduto, County Executive Fitzgerald, and the Governor’s Action Team worked with us every step of the way and showed how much the City cares about business and economic growth for the region. We appreciate their support along the way and we’re proud to call Pittsburgh home.”
As an incentive, Evoqua received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for $189,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits to be issued upon creation of the new jobs.
“Any time you see a company move from the suburbs to the city, it’s more evidence that we’re seeing a new revitalization of Pittsburgh,” said Governor Tom Wolf. “Evoqua’s expansion here, and its creation of 63 high-paying, family-sustaining jobs, are helping to cement downtown Pittsburgh as a veritable place to do business. This is great news for the area, and bodes well for the future of Pittsburgh as a business destination.”
