Five Businesses Invest $2.4 Million To Expand Or Locate in Binghamton, New York

Five businesses will expand or locate in Binghamton, New York, as a result of START-UP NY, a new initiative that creates tax-free areas associated with colleges and universities. The five businesses are projected to invest $2.4 million and create more than 80 new jobs in tax-free areas sponsored by Binghamton University.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “By offering new companies the opportunity to tap into New York’s world-class workforce and thrive in a tax-free environment, we have made another game-changing move to redefine the business climate in our state..”

These START-UP NY businesses will create jobs in several key industries, including biotechnology research and development, analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, audio and video equipment manufacturing, and software services. The businesses approved for START-UP NY include; Advanced Material Analytics, LLC, Charge CCCV, LLC, ClickCare, LLC, Innovation Associates, Inc., and Sonic Blocks, Inc. All will be sponsored by Binghamton University.

Empire State Development President/CEO/Commissioner Kenneth Adams said, "START-UP NY is already delivering results across New York State and showing that when you allow businesses the opportunity to grow tax-free, they take you up on your offer and create new jobs for the Binghamton community."

The latest businesses approved for START-UP NY at Binghamton University include:

Advanced Material Analytics, an analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing business locating at the Innovative Technologies Complex on the Binghamton University campus, which plans to invest $415,500.

Charge CCCV, a company locating at the Innovative Technologies Complex on the Binghamton University campus, with plans to invest $700,000.

ClickCare, an existing SAAS “Software as a Service” company, will expand to the Innovative Technologies Complex on the Binghamton University campus with plans to invest $293,000.

Innovation Associates, Inc., is a pharmacy automation firm, will expand to the Center of Excellence Building on the Binghamton University campus with plans to invest $200,000.

Sonic Blocks, Inc., a new business that designs and develops proprietary audio and video Bluetooth and WiFi speaker systems and accessories, will locate to the Center of Excellence Building on the Binghamton University campus with plans to invest $795,000.
