Start-Up Chile Seeks Innovative Entrepreneurs

07/28/2010
The Chilean government is seeking a few good entrepreneurs with its Start-Up Chile program. The pilot will choose 25 entrepreneurs and supply them with a yearlong resident visa and $40,000 to develop their work.

The entrepreneurs selected will have innovative and high-growth business plans with the potential to bring disruptive technology into its industry or the global market.

Entrepreneurs from across the globe are invited to apply, and since some may be unfamiliar to Chile, Start-Up will facilitate access with local talent networks through NGOs, business incubators, and Chilean entrepreneurs. A team of mentors will also help the entrepreneurs realize their goals.

Chile's active venture capital industry will partly provide funds for high-potential projects. Start-Up will arrange meetings with angel investors and venture capital funds to help maximize an entrepreneur's chance of securing funding.
