NPL Construction Plans Greenwood, Mississippi, Fabrication Operations

06/16/2026
Utility infrastructure services company NPL Construction plans to establish operations in Greenwood, Mississippi. The $1.9 million project is expected to create more than 40 jobs.

The investment will include the lease and outfitting of a 70,000-square-foot facility to support fabrication and manufacturing operations related primarily to utility infrastructure products.

“This state-of-the-art fabrication facility will create well-paying jobs while allowing us to serve more customers and more industries as part of our continued growth,” said Van “Rabbit” Ladnier, Vice President of Pipeline Services at NPL Construction. “We are grateful for the partnership and support of the economic development agencies, area leaders and community stakeholders who have helped make our expansion into Greenwood, Mississippi, possible. Greenwood offers a strong workforce, a strategic location and a business environment that supports long-term success.”

To support the project, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program. The City of Greenwood and Leflore County are also assisting with the project.

“Mississippi has welcomed billions in new investment since 2020, and it’s coming from companies across diverse industries that are ready to move,” noted Bill Cork, Executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority. “Here, they can put capital, and Mississippians, to work in record time. That momentum spans the entire state, and NPL Construction is part of that continued progress in Greenwood.”

NPL Construction, a Centuri Group company, provides infrastructure solutions for utility and energy customers with a focus on natural gas distribution and pipeline transmission. The company also manufactures and assembles components including piping systems, compressor stations, vaults, skids, and related utility infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to welcome NPL Construction to Greenwood,” added Thomas Gregory, Executive Director of the Greenwood-Leflore-Carroll Economic Development Foundation. “This investment is a testament to the strength of our workforce and the collaborative spirit of our local, county and state partners who worked together to make it happen. Projects like this one reinforce that Greenwood is a community where businesses can thrive, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with NPL Construction.”
