Columbia Tech Adds Warehouse, Production, Complex In Westborough, Massachusetts
01/31/2013
The facility adds 68,000 square feet of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and office space, enhancing its overall capabilities to provide contract manufacturing and global fulfillment services.
“Coghlin Companies and its subsidiaries, Columbia Tech, DCI Engineering, and Cogmedix are expanding steadily and this new facility provides an opportunity to gain additional efficiencies in our operations and maximize productivity to maintain our market leading position as one of the most cost effective, high quality contract manufacturing service providers in America," stated Jim Coghlin, Chief Operating Officer at Coghlin Companies. He continued, "Our new facility will expand our footprint to support our growing sales in the homeland security, semiconductor, data storage, medical device and alternative energy markets and allow us to consolidate and optimize existing supply chain and logistics functions."
Information on the estimated cost of the firm’s investment or tax incentives for which it might qualify was not immediately available.
The demand for the expansion was driven by an opportunity to consolidate operations into a more flexible and efficient space, company officials said. There is also additional opportunity for expansion in the same facility to support an increased volume of clients who require product development.
