Medical Tech Company Expanding in Indiana

10/15/2008
Predictive Physiology & Medicine (PPM), a provider of technology-based healthcare assessments, will invest $10.6 million to construct a new headquarters and laboratory facility in Bloomington, Indiana, according to the Indiana governor's office. The company will create more than 75 new jobs over the next two years as part of the expansion. A startup founded by academic leaders at Purdue University and Indiana University in 2005, currently employs 15 people and will begin hiring informatics specialists, managers, laboratory technicians, and support staff prior to the completion of the new facility in the summer of 2009. PPM's assessment products provide early warnings for potential health problems earlier than traditional blood tests by using bioprofiles, which measure targeted lists of molecules to generate a summary of a patient's health. Incentives offered to PPM include up to $1.5 million in performance-based tax credits from the state, as well as local incentives from the city of Bloomington.
