Chinese Manufacturer Brings Jobs to Georgia

09/24/2007
Sany Heavy Industry Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of heavy construction equipment based in Changsha, China, will build its first North American assembly plant in Peachtree City, Georgia, according to the Office of the Governor. The company will invest $30 million over the next five years, creating an initial 200 new jobs with the potential for 400 more during the next decade. Sany will create the subsidiary Sany America, Inc. with the construction of the 400,000-square-foot assembly/testing/training/office facility, which company officials expect to be completed within 18 to 24 months. "Support for foreign investment from the state and the local governments in metro Atlanta is systematic and well-structured," says Lincoln Liang, president of Sany America.
