09/25/2023
The additional 100,000-square-feet will increase efficiency and distribution across the company’s Midwestern network.
“Boyd Metals, a division of Russel Metals, is excited to grow with our customers,” said Brian Newman, President of Boyd Metals, Inc. “Boyd Metals opened our Joplin, Missouri location in 1995 and expanding our footprint shows a commitment to both our employees and our customer base. We are happy to be a staple in the Joplin community and this investment enhances our reputation as the leading metal supplier in the region. Again, thank you to the Boyd family and our loyal customers.”
Boyd Metals will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.
“It’s exciting to see Boyd Metals expanding in Missouri,” noted Michelle Hataway, Acting Director of the Department of Economic Development. “Boyd Metals is an industry leader known for dedication to its customers and communities. We’re proud to join our partners in supporting this company as it creates new opportunities for Missourians to prosper in the Joplin area.”
Boyd Metals offers an inventory of high-quality metals. Products consist of carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and fiberglass that can be tailored in shape and size to meet customer needs.
“This expansion is a great testament to the confidence the leadership of Boyd Metals has in the community and our workforce,” added Travis Stephens, President of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. “There are numerous other locations in the U.S. where Boyd Metals has a presence, yet they chose to expand right here in Joplin. Even with the prevailing labor shortage challenges, the expectation is that they will find the right people needed to help them grow their operations and bottom line, and that’s a great sign for any employers looking to grow and expand in Southwest Missouri.”
