Pharma Company Expanding in Wisconsin

09/04/2008
SAFC Pharma, a manufacturer of high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPIs), will construct a 45,000-square-foot plant in Verona, Wisconsin, near its existing production site in Madison. The facility will house commercial-scale reactors capable of producing batch sizes of up to 4,000 liters. The company is a subsidiary of Missouri-based Sigma-Aldrich Corporation. "We are committed to providing customers with the best possible HPAPI manufacturing services, and our new investment at Madison will enable us to continue to meet the increasing demand for HPAPI production," says Dave Feldker, the company's vice president for sales and manufacturing. Construction of the new plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. No details were released about potential job creation or financial incentives.
