Verizon To Bring More Than 500 Jobs to Tulsa
01/18/2013
The center will be located at the company’s facility in the Cherokee Industrial Park, where it currently has 900 employees. The new jobs will be in accounts payable, accounting, and other financial activities. According to the Tulsa Chamber, it is one of the largest job announcements for the Tulsa region in the past decade.
"Verizon's decision to build a new hub employing more than 500 skilled workers is a tremendous boost to our region's economic development efforts and reflects the spirit and commitment of Verizon as they continue a tradition of growth and investment in Tulsa," said Tulsa Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mike Neal. “Verizon is well-positioned in the marketplace, and our community is fortunate that, among its many national locations, Tulsa was chosen for their vital financial services hub.”
“The addition of hundreds of high-paying, primary jobs will greatly benefit not only Tulsa but all of northeast Oklahoma,” added Jim Fram, Tulsa Regional Chamber’s senior vice president of Economic Development.
