The firm will lease 45,000 sq. ft. for its Global Services Center located at Crown Center, 2301 McGee Center. The company expects to initially hire up to 275 new associates with the potential for significant growth over the next several years.
The new centralized location will house the firm’s Administrative Management and Operations, Human Resources, Attorney Recruiting and Development, Technology Infrastructure, Information Security & Information Management, Applications/Development, Finance, Client Relations, Littler Learning Group, Litigation Support, Knowledge Management, Risk Management, Littler CaseSmart Intake, and Library Research departments.
“As the world’s largest employment and labor law firm, we believe this move is critical to allow us to continue as a successful and well-managed organization in support of quality service to our employees and our clients,” said Littler’s Co-Managing Directors Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, in a joint statement. “After evaluating virtually every major U.S. city, we decided that Kansas City is the right fit for its quality and diverse labor force, central time zone location and cost benefits. We greatly appreciate the warm welcome and continued support we are receiving from Kansas City officials and the local business community.”
“Missouri continues to be the center for economic activity as more and more global businesses like Littler are deciding that the Show-Me State is a great place to grow, invest and create jobs,” Governor Jay Nixon said. “After a record year for new jobs and investment, this announcement adds to our momentum and provides for a great start for 2015.” “Coming off of our region’s best year ever for job attraction success, I can’t think of any better way to kick off 2015,” said Bob Marcusse, President/CEO, Kansas City Area Development Council.
The Kansas City Area Development Council was proud to work with a number of regional partners in attracting Littler to the region: The Missouri Partnership, Missouri Department of Economic Development, Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, City of Kansas City – Office of Mayor Sly James, KCP&L, CBRE, Alliance Relocation Center, University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Kansas, Metropolitan Community College, Missouri Gas Energy; Colliers International, Crown Center Redevelopment Corporation, Aerotek and The Full Employment Council.
