Italy-Based Vulcaflex S.p.A Plans Auburn, Alabama, Manufacturing Operations

06/20/2026
Italy-based automotive materials manufacturer Vulcaflex plans to establish operations in Auburn, Alabama. The approximately $70 million project is expected to create 130 jobs.

The investment will include the construction of a manufacturing facility, located at Auburn Technology Park West, that will produce synthetic leather materials used in automotive interiors and will serve customers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

“The North American market is of great importance to our company,” said Roberto Bozzi, CEO of Vulcaflex. “We are excited to establish in Alabama a complete production of our synthetic leather materials for the automotive industry in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The combination of our unique Italian design and the local production in the U.S. will allow us to grow our market alongside globally known automotive manufacturers with assembly plants in North America.”

Vulcaflex S.p.A. is a manufacturer of synthetic leather and surface materials used in automotive interior applications. The company’s operations include material development, manufacturing, and distribution to automotive manufacturers and suppliers.

“Alabama is pleased to welcome Vulcaflex to its new North American home in Auburn,” noted Governor Kay Ivey. “I’m confident Vulcaflex chose wisely in locating here and will find the community partners, skilled workforce and business-friendly environment that continues to grow Alabama’s automotive industry.”
