SANY's New R&D Center to Generate 300 Jobs in Peachtree City, GA
10/21/2011
Parent company SANY Group Ltd. is one of the world's largest concrete machinery manufacturers and the largest concrete-pumping equipment company in China. Its sales revenues exceed $8 billion, and it employs 53,000 workers in over 120 countries.
SANY's North American manufacturing operation in Peachtree City now employs about 100 workers. The $60 million, 420,000-sq.ft. facility produces specialized cranes and lifting equipment for the Americas' construction marketplace. It also houses the company's sales, procurement and engineering offices.
Jack Tang, president of SANY North America, said the R&D center will help SANY's internationalization initiatives and strengthen its global competitiveness by designing/developing new products across many product lines.
The expansion news came after the governor met with SANY Group Chairman Liang Wengen at the firm's global headquarters in Changsha, China. When Deal returns home to Georgia, he will have in hand a few "memorandum of understanding" economic development-focused documents signed by high-ranking Chinese officials.
"SANY's decision to choose Georgia for its expansion, as well as these agreements to work toward future partnerships, are tangible outcomes of relationships we're able to cultivate during missions like this," said Commissioner Chris Cummiskey of the Georgia Dept. of Economic Development. "When we take the time to visit potential customers at their headquarters, they realize our interest is sincere and our commitment to their success is very real."
