Cheryl’s Doubles Production Capacity In Columbus, Ohio Area
10/28/2013
Known for its fresh-baked desserts, Cheryl’s was founded more than 30 years ago in the Columbus Region by Cheryl Krueger and her college roommate. Within seven years, the company expanded its offerings from just cookies to gifts and desserts, merging with the 1-800-Flowers Family of Brands in 2005. With a 160 member workforce, Cheryl’s continues to operate Ohio-based retail stores, an e-commerce site and a catalog-driven Business Gift Division – all from its headquarters in Westerville.
“Cheryl’s has seen tremendous growth in recent years, which has prompted the need to expand our production capacity and hire nearly 100 new employees,” said Jim McCann, founder and CEO, 1-800- Flowers Family of Brands. “We are proud to build upon Cheryl’s long history in the Columbus Region with this expansion.”
“Cheryl’s has been a staple in the Columbus Region for more than three decades, and continues to attract a strong customer base both inside the state via retail stores and globally via the e-commerce site and catalogs,” said Jason Bechtold, Economic Development Administrator, City of Westerville. “We welcome this expansion to the Cheryl’s Westerville headquarters, and look forward to facilitating the company’s continued growth.”
