Manufacturer of Lab-Grown Diamonds to Create 70 Jobs With Relocation to South Carolina

The company is now readying 9,300-sq.-ft. of space in the $10 million NEXT Innovation Center to meet its specific needs.The relocation will begin first quarter of 2012, and the facility will be fully online by second quarter 2012.
Scio Diamond produces a patent-protected chemical deposition process of creating high-quality, single-crystal "lab-grown" diamonds made for a variety of uses, from medical equipment to manufacturing to water purification.
President and CEO Joseph Lancia said the company "found the ideal balance of business-friendly climate, access to talent, entrepreneurial drive and exceptional quality of life" in South Carolina. "We expect that Greenville County will provide us with the perfect mix of ingredients for success."
The state of South Carolina provided the company with job development credits which will be available when hiring targets are met.
