10/07/2013
According to the firm, its new facility will provide more than 100,000 square feet of warehouse space, in addition to its current 350,000 square foot facility. Its new warehouse will be FDA GMP compliant for food, cosmetics, OTC and medical devices. It will also be equipped with an air quality control system and a state-of-the-art IT infrastructure.
This move will also provide a significant expansion for IDS' transportation segment, specializing in intermodal transportation and transportation management services, with an additional 4,500 square feet of office space.
Mark DeFabis, President and CEO of IDS said, "We continue to see strong demand among ecommerce and direct selling companies for our fulfillment and supply chain services. This expansion will allow us to continue to meet the demand for fulfillment services that are efficient, timely and accurate while our central location allows our customers to take advantage of low cost delivery solutions to the US population and Canada."
The company said its optimal location for National, East Coast or Midwest distribution just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana, provides a centralized distribution center, offering customers efficient and cost effective product delivery, reaching roughly 90 percent of the US population within 3 Day Ground.
