Core Label Invests More Than $1.56 Million To Expand Snyder Township, Pennsylvania, Facility

11/05/2013
Core Label, LLC, a manufacturer of beverage labels, will invest more than $1.56 million to expand its current facility in Snyder Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania, with plans to almost double its workforce by adding at least 43 new jobs.

“It is refreshing to work with a county and state that are in such unison when it comes to job- supported business development,” said Don Mader, President and CEO of Core Label, LLC. “The professionals at the Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation worked with the talented people from the Governor’s Action Team to provide our company with much-needed assistance supporting our growth efforts.”

Gov. Tom Corbett said, “Core Label’s expansion continues the momentum building in the Pennsylvania economy as businesses continue to grow and more Pennsylvanians are back at work.” The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team in collaboration with the Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation.

As an incentive, the company received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development including an $86,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, $86,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $40,000 Guaranteed Free Training grant to be used to train its new workforce. In addition, assistance also included a $700,000 low-interest loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund to be repaid in 10 years.

“We have been working with the team from Core Label, LLC throughout the past year. We are extremely excited about today’s announcement and the creation of new jobs and investment here in the heart of the I-99 Corridor,” said Marty Marasco, president and CEO of Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation. “We are thankful for the collaborative teamwork from our partners including Governor Tom Corbett, Governor’s Action Team and the Snyder Township Supervisors in making sure that this expansion project will occur in Blair County.”
