Italian Solar Panel Maker MX Solar USA Expanding in Somerset, New Jersey

MX Solar USA, an Italian maker of solar panels, is expanding in Somerset, New Jersey, MyCentralJersey.com reports. The company has already hired 30 people and expects to employ a total of 200 workers by the end of 2011.

"We are entering a market that is just starting to understand the development potential for renewable energy," Chairman and CEO Carmelito Denaro said. "We believe that the PV industry holds tremendous potential for the U.S. market thanks to the many open spaces that grace the country and for its excellent solar irradiation. Furthermore, New Jersey is among the states that have adopted a very aggressive system of incentives to promote PV."

The company occupies a 138,000-square-foot facility. It plans to train each employee in every job to improve flexibility of the work force.

MX will ship its first solar panels in January.
